EXCITED shoppers abounded at the grand opening of Coles Elsternwick on Sunday morning. The newly revamped supermarket has returned with a greatly expanded offering of kosher foods and services following a two-year hiatus.

Kosher Australia’s Rabbi Mordechai Gutnick (pictured right), store manager John Siriopoulos and local member for Caulfield David Southwick (pictured third from right) were among the speakers at the opening event.

“Not only does a supermarket like this provide jobs, and obviously the opportunity for many local customers to have a great store, but it does a lot for the precinct and the shopping strip along here,” said Southwick.

“The supermarkets are really the anchor that brings a lot of the community together.”
