Glogauer leaves KTC

RABBI Noteh Glogauer has left Kesser Torah College (KTC) after more than eight years as principal.

KTC president Meir Moss said that during Rabbi Glogauer’s time as principal the school became more unified, the boys’ high school was reestablished and there have been numerous improvements to the curriculum.

“Rabbi Glogauer did a great job turning the school around and we will miss him,” Moss told The AJN.

“We are looking forward optimistically to the next stage of the school’s development and we expect to appoint a first class principal to take the school forward.”

While the school conducts a year-long search to find a replacement, Samuel Gurewicz, who was the principal of Beth Rivkah Ladies College in Melbourne for more than 25 years, will take the position of acting principal.

“Mr G, as he is fondly known, has been on the board for some time and understands the school very well,” Moss said.

“We are very excited to have him come on board as acting principal for the next year or two while we conduct the search and believe that his warmth and concern for the individual child will help KTC develop true self esteem for each of our children.”

Gurewicz told The AJN that he is looking forward to returning to work.

“Retirement has not agreed with me and I’m excited that I can start working again and do what I do best,” he said.

“I have felt guilty ever since I stepped down because I had a slichot from the Lubavitcher Rebbe from 1971 and I know that if he would be alive he would not allow me to retire.

“I felt guilty that I would not be fulfilling the slichot that I was supposed to.”
