IT was a happy day for students, parents and teachers alike on Monday, as children from prep to year 7 and VCE students returned to classrooms after months of home learning due to the pandemic.

Upon entering the gateway of her beloved Sholem Aleichem College, 11-year-old Luna Srugo (pictured) joined her fellow students in undergoing a temperature check and hand sanitisation – but that didn’t dampen her spirits.

“As I am in grade 6, this is my last term at Sholem Aleichem College.

“I couldn’t wait to get back, to make it the best I can,” she told The AJN

Principal Helen Greenberg said, “It was such a pleasure to see all our children back, healthy, excited and ready to learn. It has been a long time since we have all been in the school environment, hearing school bells, sitting in classrooms, seeing friends and colleagues and reconnecting outside of screens.

“We are excited to be on the path to returning to a new COVID normal.”

Spotted at Melbourne's Mount Scopus College this morning. Welcome back to all our students!
