STAR Adam Kellerman has been named in Australia’s three-man team for the upcoming BNP Paribas Wheelchair Tennis World Team Cup set to take place in the Netherlands later this month.

Kellerman, who helped lead the green and gold to victory in World Group II at last year’s tournament, will headline the side that will take on the likes of powerhouses France, Japan and hosts Holland in World Group I.

The 23-year-old has had a stellar start to 2014, taking part in the main draw at the Australian Open in January, before embarking on a successful tour of the United States in March.

Kellerman ventured to Japan to play in a lead-up event this week, before his attention will turn solely on ensuring the national side is competitive among the world’s best.

“Being back in the World Group 1 is a great opportunity for us,” Kellerman said.

“We’ve been working with a new coach and we’ve been creating a really nice team environment.

“Hearing the Australian national anthem when I’m on the podium, that’s what I play for.”

Under the guidance of National Academy Wheelchair Coach Joe Kubizniak, Kellerman, who has shot up to number 16 in the world rankings, will join fellow top-30-ranked players Ben Weekes (18) and Keegan Oh-Chee (30).

Meanwhile, Israeli tennis stars Shahar Peer, Amir Weintraub, Julia Glushko and Dudi Sela have all been in action at tournaments around the world.

Peer and Weintraub made it to the quarterfinals of their major events in Morocco and South Korea respectively, while Glushko and Sela failed to make it past the first rounds in their competitions.
