JUNIOR track and field stars Jemima (front centre) and Piper Montag have continued on their winning ways, securing national and state championships respectively.

Jemima, 15, produced a personal best effort to take out the under-20 10km title at the Oceania and Australian 20km race walking championships in Hobart.

The star Victorian crossed the line in a time of 47 minutes – more than 75 seconds quicker than the next best competitor – and is almost certain to secure a spot as a junior on the Australian team heading to the IAAF World Race Walking Cup in China in May.

Meanwhile, Piper has set a new Victoria record in the process of winning the under-13 decathlon event at the Little Athletics Victoria state multi-event championships in Bendigo.

Piper scored 1464 over the five events – 130 points better than second place – after she placed in four events, highlighted by a stellar throw of 11.29m in the shot put.

Both will take part in the upcoming Victorian junior track and field championships.

Meanwhile, sprinter Steven Solomon is continuing to excel during his time with Stanford University in the USA, set- ting a meet record 1:04.35 in the 500m at the Penn State National track and field invitational.
