Shock over Sydney woman with swastika

A young Jewish mother has been left distressed after sighting a woman with a swastika scrawled on her cheek in the Sydney suburb of Maroubra earlier this week.
The incident occurred on Tuesday and has been described by Australia’s Jewish roof body as what appears to be “mental collapse more than malice”.
“I am sorry for the young Jewish mother who had to see this and was greatly distressed by it and any other members of the community and wider public who have encountered this woman,” Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-CEO Alex Ryvchin told The AJN.

“I hope she gets the help she clearly needs and in the meantime is restrained from causing injury to members of our community in this way.”
Tanya, who spotted the woman, said the sight was “so hard to see, hard to process”.
“Not on TV, not in America, right here, right outside our door,” she said.
The AJN understands the woman is known to the Community Security Group (CSG) and to NSW Police.
Currently, it is not illegal in Australia to display the Nazi swastika symbol.
