JEWISH Agency chairman Isaac ‘Bougie’ Herzog and Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs Omer Yankelevich will be the guest speakers at United Israel Appeal (UIA) NSW’s AGM next Tuesday, November 10.

Herzog was a Knesset member in 2003 – 2018 holding several ministerial posts, including minister of welfare and social services. Formerly the chairman of the Labor Party, he served as opposition leader in 2013 – 2018.

Yankelevich is the first ultra-Orthodox woman to be appointed to a ministerial position. Born to secular immigrants from the Soviet Union, she founded a social voluntary organisation, initiating ground-breaking social projects promoting equal opportunities for minority groups.

In addition to hearing from the guest speakers, the 2020 campaign results will be presented.

The AGM will be held at 8pm on Zoom.

“While this year has thrown up its fair share of challenges, it has also enabled many opportunities and driven innovation,” UIA CEO Yair Miller OAM said.

“UIA has become a leader in connecting our community to Israel in virtual and other tangible ways. Join us to hear about the incredible year that has passed and our exciting plans for the future.”
