Reflecting on Armistice centenary

By-election candidates back new Monash bill
A three-year campaign led by former deputy prime minister Tim Fischer to posthumously promote Jewish Australian WWI legend General Sir John Monash to Field Marshal is alive again, with independent MP for Indi Catherine McGowan announcing on Monday that she will introduce a private member's bill to Parliament to achieve that objective on October 22 – just two days after the Wentworth by-election.

Honouring our fallen Diggers
