New home for offshoot of tree that survived Theresienstadt
Branch saplings cut from a tree in Theresienstadt have been planted in Jerusalem, as well as in San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia to accompany a travelling exhibit of treasures nearly lost in the Holocaust. Now New York will also nurture a descendant of the original tree.
