GET your entries in for The AJN’s annual holiday photo competition and be in the running to win a two-night stay at The Reef House, a charming colonial style boutique resort situated on the beachfront in the heart of Palm Cove, just 25 kilometres north of Cairns in tropical Queensland.

The entry judged to be the best photo will receive a gift certificate for accommodation in a verandah room for two people for two nights, including continental buffet breakfasts.

To be eligible to enter the competitions, photos must have been taken between February 1, 2019 and January 31, 2020 (the closing date of the competitions) and feature members of the Jewish community on holiday.

Entries should be emailed to travel@jewishnews.net.au and include the names of the photographer, those featured in the photo and location. Photos will be published in online galleries.

There is a separate competition for sunset/sunrise photos with the best entry receiving a gift certificate for a two-night stay at Perth’s new Art Series hotel, The Adnate.

The Reef House has 67 modern rooms and suites set around the resort’s large swimming pool, framed by shaded pathways and tropical gardens. There are two other pools in secluded spots around the gardens.

Enjoy meals and snacks beside the main pool or in the award-winning Reef House Restaurant overlooking the palm-fringed esplanade just metres from the white sandy beach.

The rooms and suites are spacious – some of the verandah rooms come with an oversized spa on the verandah, while some of the brigadier rooms include a hanging swing on the porch.

Guests can experience the charm of the colonial era with modern luxury and five-star service. Enjoy health and beauty treatments at the Day Spa.

A tradition at The Reef House is late afternoon drinks at the Brigadiers bar, situated alongside the library. Each evening candles are lit around the resort as guests gather in the bar or restaurant.

Walk a few metres along the main esplanade from The Reef House to browse art and craft shops, boutiques and roadside cafes and restaurants.

The Reef House is part of Accor’s M Gallery collection of prestige hotels.

Palm Cove is ideally located for exploring the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest, and is less than an hour’s drive from Port Douglas.
